Where does our water come from?
BMF obtains its water from a local well 800 feet below ground.

Isn’t spring water better for you?
With spring water you can’t be sure that the source is pure. Due to the general decline in the purity of ground water, the spring water may actually be from an aquifer that has been contaminated with pollutants and dangerous trace chemicals.

Doesn’t boiling tap water on the stove make it safe?
Boiling water on the stove may kill microorganisms, but it will actually concentrate dangerous chemicals in your drinking water. The purest water is boiled away as steam. Some “bottled water” is merely just that, tap water bottled in a bottling plant. In most parts of the U.S. , a water bottler isn’t required to meet any government standards, unless the water is shipped across state lines. There is a shocking lack of honesty about what constitutes “good bottled water.” With the distillation process, you know what your water contains— only H²O.

Is BMF water distilled?
Yes, all our water undergoes a unique vapor compression distillation process.

What is distillation?
Distillation is the process of boiling water until it becomes steam, leaving behind the impurities, and then condensing it into clean, pure water. It surpasses all other water purification methods, such as filtering and reverse osmosis systems, which can become contaminated.

What happens to water during distillation?
As the water turns to steam, it leaves behind contaminants, including chlorine, fluoride, lead, copper, iron, and heavy metals. The extreme heat kills the bacteria and other microorganisms, and is effective against many viruses. When the steam is condensed the result is clean, pure water.

Aren’t the minerals in water important for good health?
Minerals are important to maintain good health, however, the human body is unable to assimilate them in an inorganic form. Our mineral intake needs to come from the food we eat or other supplements. It is now believed that the minerals in water contribute to health problems as deposits build up in our arteries, bones, joints, liver, and kidneys.

Does distilled water have any health benefits?
While many people have reported that distilled water has had a beneficial effect on their conditions of arthritis, kidney stones, glaucoma, arteriosclerosis, and emphysema, the single greatest health benefit is the knowledge that you are in control of your water supply. Distilled water is clean pure, and free of contaminants and organisms.

Is it better to cook with distilled water?
Just because you can’t see or taste contaminants in water doesn’t mean they aren’t there, and cooking doesn’t remove them. In fact, pasta, rice, and beans will absorb chemicals found in water. It is always best to use distilled water for all your consumption needs.

There are some additional benefits such as:

  • Harder, cleaner ice cubes, with no chlorine taste
  • Beverages, such as coffee and tea, taste better, and less bitter.
